Mission The Blacks in Cybersecurity Ambassador Program aims to unite and empower local Black cybersecurity communities through networking, knowledge sharing, and relationship building. By establishing location-based groups, the program creates opportunities for individuals to connect, discuss industry topics, and collaborate on initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion in cybersecurity. ​ Ambassador skills and qualifications: ​ Diplomacy – the ambassador’s role is primarily diplomatic in nature, so the ability to successfully manage community relations and support positive interactions between BIC@ Location groups and the surrounding community is essential. Negotiation skills – because they frequently lead negotiations on a variety of topics, ambassadors need to be pragmatic and skilled negotiators with a solid understanding of their nation’s positions and interests Relationship building – ambassadors build relationships with their BIC group and the surrounding community, ability to develop and maintain positive relations is a major benefit in this position. Leadership skills – ambassadors oversee and direct their respective communities, assign roles and manage meetings, etc. Conflict resolution – the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate a common ground. The Blacks In Cybersecurity External Training Program is designed to provide accessible and affordable training to our community. The formal BIC-Training program consists of all forms of BIC sponsored educational initiatives. The onsite/online training is offered by instructors, companies, sponsors and partners at conferences and events. Training Program Tiers ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ BIC-Classes@[CONFERENCE] BIC-Classes are an add-on to the conference speaker lineup the day(s) of the conference. In this format, individual instructors are provided space from the venue to host their seminars, classes and workshops for walk-in ready for attendees. RSVP is requested so that those who indicated they would like to attend can guarantee a seat and we as the venue providers can ensure we have enough space/workspace for everyone. These are free or with a small fee depending on the event (Example: for a soldering class, attendees may be asked to pay five dollars for solder materials,etc.) BIC-Training@[FACILITATOR] BIC-Training(s) are premier training modules set in a range of foundational to niche and highly requested materials during or before conference day(s) or at separate events. In this format, the BIC-Training(s) are a series of talks, workshops, and in depth/advanced training that are curated by BIC at BIC Events. These class materials are more curated as far as distribution of knowledge and content. They are often charged separately and are longer (2 hours - 2 Days) with labs or books attached to them. Training Levels: ​ LEVEL-0 BLUE No Prior Knowledge This set of offerings include base knowledge/ “no knowledge” catalogue of classes to full courses. Duties and responsibilities include: ​ Communicating with co-coordinators about tasks and assignments. Collaborating with cabinets and committees on budgeting and allocating funds or resources. Delegating tasks to appropriate team members. Managing deadlines and progress across the cabinets and BIC board to ensure the deliverable is executed on time and on budget. Organizing third-party providers and vendors to deliver elements that can't be produced in-house. Overseeing the delivery of projects and making adjustments as necessary to ensure they are delivered to specifications and high standards. Coordinator skills and qualifications: ​ Coordinators use a variety of soft skills and industry knowledge to provide the most comprehensive organizational and management support they can.
